When I pulled up to Springdale Farms on Jordan and Timmer's wedding day, it was raining. Really, it was pouring. The grass was green, the ducks were scurrying, and everything proceeded as planned. While Jordan got ready in a sweet little airstream trailer, Timmer chatted with family under umbrellas. And any nerves or worries about the storm dissipated when Jordan and Timmer had their first look under the owner's porch roof.
They saw each other, they realized they were going to have the best day ever no matter what, and it rained harder as they kissed for the first time.
During their outdoor ceremony, the guests huddled under umbrellas and and the maid of honor and best man held them overhead for the bride and groom. It was intimate, it was wet, and it was beautiful.
We had a break in the rain for a few portraits and once those were done, Jordan changed out of her now muddy wedding gown and the party really started. Delicious pizza was served, speeches were made, and dancing was had.
I loved being able to be a part of a situation that would have normally caused a lot of stress and commotion and see it turned in to just another thing that happens that makes a wedding day special. Jordan and Timmer had their beautiful farm wedding and honestly, I can't picture it having happened in any other way.
