I was feeling sick and honestly, a little down in the dumps, creatively. I had very little pep in my step but within.. let's say.. three minutes, the pep was found. I've known David and Gabby over the years through friend circles. David and I are on a softball team together (go neil diamonds!) and Gabby is just generally a face that you are always happy to see. I had the crazy honor of photographing the birth of their son, Gideon, and was so happy when they asked me to be their wedding photographer so that I would have the chance to get to know them even better.
We started at their home to get a few family pictures. Gideon danced to Adele, they snuggled, I smiled. Then the grown ups ventured to the east side to wander around and I just fell continually more in love with David and Gabby's love. At Gideon's birth, I was blown away by their connection and during our time together taking engagement pictures, it was the same.
I walked away, after some delicious french fries and lovely conversation, feeling so grateful to be shown why I keep doing what I do. I felt thankful.
